United States: at least 6 people presumed dead when the Francis Scott Key bridge collapsed after it was hit by a cargo vessel 27 March. Severe disruption to maritime traffic in the port of Baltimore.

Mexico: rise in incidents ahead of the June general elections (assassinations of mayors, attempted intrusion into the Presidential palace 6 March).

Russia: Vladimir Putin re-elected as president, with no large-scale opposition mobilisation despite massive electoral fraud. ISKP attack on a concert hall in the Moscow suburbs (144 dead).
