India/Pakistan: ongoing tensions running high between the two countries with an escalation in strikes and exchange of fire in border areas at the start of May. Relative calm following the announcement of an immediate bilateral ceasefire 10 May, but the security situation remains highly volatile.

Libya: renewed tension and armed clashes in Tripoli following the assassination of the commander of the Stability Support Apparatus (SSA), which was in control of one of the main areas of the capital, 12 May.

Mexico: definitive results of the 1 June judicial and municipal elections expected 15 June – Risk of continued intimidation, threats and violence targeting candidates.

Sudan: further escalation and extension of the conflict with an increase in drone attacks carried out by the paramilitary targeting strategic infrastructure in cities in the north and east of the country positioned away from the frontline, such as Port Sudan, the de facto headquarters of the junta-led government.
