Bolivia: attempted coup by soldiers 26 June condemned by President Luis Arce, at least 20 people arrested amid an overall political, social and economic crisis.

Mexico: victory for Claudia Sheinbaum in the 2 June presidential election, following an election campaign marked by the assassination of at least 25 candidates.

North Korea: surge in tension with South Korea with several hundred waste-filled balloons sent to the south, violating the border between North and South Korea on three occasions, renewed missile fire in the East Sea and a mutual assistance pact signed with Russia.

Kenya: increase in anti-government demonstrations in Nairobi from 18 June and greater police repression, at least 39 dead.

New Caledonia: volatile peace returned to New Caledonia with airports reopened 17 June. However, security operations continued and the curfew was extended despite the suspension of the electoral reform due to ongoing roadblocks and renewed violence.

Philippines: surge in tension with China following a collision involving Chinese and Philippine vessels in the South China Sea 17 June, leaving one Filipino seriously injured.
