Niger: Attempted coup 29/08: large-scale fighting broke out in Niamey between mutinous soldiers and the Presidential Guard, including at Air Base 101. Although the mutiny is reported to have been quashed, the situation remains unstable.
DRC: Ebola outbreak death toll rises to over 2,500 with more than 5,000 cases as of the 21/08. Outbreak spread to Bas-Uélé Province. Travel restrictions in place in areas under rebel control. Roadmap agreed between Kinshasa and M23.
